Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization and the key to its success.  Amazing, dedicated volunteers support every aspect of what we do: riding lessons, office work, fundraising, promotion, facility maintenance, and more.  No horse experience or experience with people with special needs is required, just enthusiasm and an interest in learning new things.

Volunteers share in our clients' successes and lessons would not be possible without them. We are fortunate to have enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers of all ages committed to improving the lives of adults & children with special needs, cancer patients & survivors, caregivers, veterans, and seniors.

We offer continuing education workshops for volunteers who want to build their skills.  If you are interested in learning about horses, ongoing education in horse care and handling is available to our volunteers.  We also mentor and train therapeutic riding instructors and offer opportunities for advancement in our organization.

Upcoming Volunteer Training EVents:

  • Introductory Training and overview: Saturday,August 25:  2:00pm – 4:00pm

Our Introductory Training is to give potential volunteers an Introduction to and Overview of what White Horse Wellness Center is about.  There is some hands-on work with the horses to help people understand what is expected in a lesson.

  • Lesson Training: Saturday, August 25:  4:00pm – 6:30pm

Lesson training is for people who have attended a previous Intro Training and already have a sense that they really want to help in the arena, or at least want to learn more about what we do in our Therapeutic Riding Lessons.  Lesson schedule permitting, there may be an opportunity to work with or observe a rider in a lesson.
